It is funny how emotions can influence us. How quickly we get caught up in them…
Recently I was in Las Vegas, attending the “Be the Change” conference, hosted by Suzanne Evans and I got to see first hand what being caught up in the emotion can do. It is so easy to “drink the kool-aid” when we are living in the emotional high a well crafted event produces, but it is after the conference, when we sift through the content that applies to us that the real gold is discovered. There were over 800 people at that conference, and rather than play “whomever collects the most business cards wins” I had the most success being strategic in my thinking. I knew whom I wanted to contact because I spent time before the conference started going through the program and looking at the featured businesses, and of course I focused on learning about the speakers, because Pibworth knows speakers best.
When you put thought into your networking, and of course your marketing you get the best results. I met some amazing people (both planned strategically, and by happenstance) and I have some strong leads moving forward.
What are YOU doing to enhance your conference experiences?
